Afghanistan: 126 security officers killed in Taliban terror attack
More than 100 members of Afghan security forces were killed when Taliban Muslim terrorists attacked a military base and police training center in the central Maidan Wardak province on Monday, a senior defense ministry official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
“We have information that 126 people have been killed in the explosion inside the military training center,” the official said.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the terror attack.
The attack was the latest in near-daily attacks by the Taliban terror group who now hold sway in almost half of Afghanistan, despite stepped-up efforts by the United States to find a negotiated end to the country’s 17-year war.
