400 rockets fired from Gaza at Israeli civilians in southern Israel – Direct hit in Ashkelon
More than 400 rockets have been fired by Muslim terrorists in Gaza at Israeli civilians in southern Israel, making today’s barrage the largest attack since 2014.
The IDF says dozens of incoming rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.
A 40-year-old man was killed when a rocket launched by Muslim terrorists from Gaza hit a residential building in the southern Israeli town Ashkelon Monday night. Two women in the same building are in critical condition.
In addition, a 40-year-old man suffered moderate injuries and nine others were lightly injured.
The fatality is an Arab man from Hevron, a resident of the Palestinian Authority, not an Israeli citizen.
The victim was found by other civilians buried in the rubble after police and firefighters had already left, in what neighbors described as a “terrible failure” to locate him.
Rescue operations at the building had identified a 60-year-old woman, unconscious with blast wounds and multiple injuries, after 40 minutes since the house was hit, but had altogether missed the other casualties. The other victims were spotted by a man who had come to take pictures of damages one hour after the hit.

IDF Lieutenant Colonel ‘M’ was killed and another officer was moderately wounded in a fire exchange that erupted between the IDF force conducting the mission and Hamas terrorists late Sunday night.
At least seven Muslim terrorists, including a Hamas leader in the Khan Yunis area, were eliminated. All the eliminated terrorists are part of the Hamas terror group armed wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, whose sole mission is to murder Jews.
According to Arab reports, the vehicle was destroyed by the IAF after the troops were extracted from the area.
Lt. Col. M was the most senior soldier killed in Gaza since the 2014 Operation Protective Edge.
The Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson’s Unit said about the lieutenant colonel that “His actions will not be published in the media but he deserves our salute. His actions led to Israel having superiority over its enemies.”
