Three rockets launched by Iran-backed terrorists exploded in Baghdad on Sunday, including two inside the capital’s heavily fortified Green Zone which houses government buildings and the US Embassy.

Six people were wounded in the attacks.

In addition to the two rockets that exploded in the Green Zone, another exploded in the nearby Jadriya area.

Yesterday, several rockets exploded in and around Baghdad, including military bases housing US troops and the Green Zone.

The attacks come after the elimination of arch-terrorist Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s extra-territorial terror group Quds Force and one of the country’s most powerful figures.

The United States will quickly strike back, “perhaps in a disproportionate manner,” if Iran strikes any American person or target, President Trump said on Sunday.

“These Media Posts will serve as notification to the United States Congress that should Iran strike any U.S. person or target, the United States will quickly & fully strike back, & perhaps in a disproportionate manner. Such legal notice is not required, but is given nevertheless!”, President Trump tweeted.

The US has detected a heightened state of alert by Iran’s missile forces across the country tonight, a US official said, adding it was unclear whether the higher readiness level was defensive in nature or not.

“They’re clearly at a heightened state of alert. Is that heightened state of alert to be better prepared defensively or to be better prepared offensively? That can’t be determined at this point,” the official said. “But we’re watching it closely,” he added.

A heavy and unusual IDF activity was reported by residents in northern Israel Sunday night.
