Israel's ambassador to Russia summoned over Syria base strike

BREAKING: The Russian government summoned Israel’s Ambassador to Russia, Gary Koren, to hold consultations with Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirms the meeting, but qualifies ‘We have ongoing conversations with the Russians all the time.’

Russian officials blamed Israel for the attack on a major Iranian air base in central Syria which killed 14 military personnel, including Iranians.

Russia, the US, Syria and Iran have all accused Israel of carrying out the attack on the Tiyas, or T-4, air base near Homs—something that Israel has not confirmed or denied.

At least seven Iranian “military advisers” were killed in the attack.
