Israel Air Force fighter jets attacked a terror target located in a Hamas base in the northern Gaza Strip in the early hours of Monday.
The attack was carried out in response for the infiltration of three Muslim terrorists across the border and their planting of improvised explosive devices Sunday.
“Hamas is solely responsible for everything going on in—and out of—the Gaza Strip, both above and below ground,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said after the strike.
“The IDF looks gravely on the attempt lead by Hamas to turn the fence’s vicinity into a theater of war, while attempting to damage or tamper with security and defense infrastructures,” the statement added.
“The IDF will also not allow the cynical use of civilians to serve as a front of terror activities against Israeli civilians and army forces, and will respond to any such attempt,” the statement concluded.
On Sunday, the IDF located two explosive devices placed by Muslim terrorists who infiltrated Israel through the security border fence with northern Gaza.
Earlier, soldiers monitoring closed circuit cameras spotted the three Muslim terrorists as they broke through the border, and then later crossed back into Gaza, the IDF said.
