BREAKING: Muslim terrorist attempted to drive vehicle into a group of French soldiers near a military base in Varces. No injuries; manhunt underway for the terrorist.
French police are hunting for a Muslim terrorist who attempted to run over several soldiers outside an army base in southeast France.
The driver tried to ram his vehicle into troops jogging outside their base in Varces-Allieres-et-Risset, near Grenoble, and then insulted another group of soldiers, before speeding off.
None of the soldiers have reportedly been injured.
Children are being kept insides schools, kindergartens and colleges.
UPDATE: French police arrested the Muslim terrorist driving a stolen car.
A spokesman for the army’s land regiments based in the Isere region told Reuters soldiers had told police the terrorist first passed them shouting abuse in Arabic, before returning and trying to run them down. No one was hurt in the attempted terror attack.
“There were a good 10 of them jogging outside their barracks. He targeted one group of four, but none were hit,” the Isere land forces spokesman said.
