An explosive device and a remote detonator was found inside the tunnels of Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem overnight Monday, the IDF said, as thousands of worshipers were escorted by a security detail to the Jewish holy site.
The device was destroyed in a controlled explosion by bomb disposal units.
In addition, rocks were thrown by Muslim terrorists at the buses carrying the worshipers as they entered and left the site, causing light damage but no injuries.
One terrorist was arrested.
The IDF arrested 11 Muslim terrorists overnight in Judea and Samaria, who were wanted for involvement in lone wolf terror attacks and violent disorders directed against civilians and security personnel.
