Police in Germany have arrested a 29-year-old Muslim terrorist planning a truck attack at Karlsruhe Christmas Market, targeting the ice rink.
Federal prosecutors say a tactical response unit arrested the ISIS terrorist, identified only as Dasbar W., on Wednesday in the southwest German city of Karlsruhe.
Prosecutors said the Muslim terrorist contacted with ISIS terrorists online in April 2015, before he traveled to Iraq in June of that year. He received firearms training and scouted targets for a terror attack.
Prosecutors say W. returned to Germany in July and planned to use a vehicle to carry out a terror attack on a site in Karlsruhe.
He applied multiple times for parcel delivery driver to obtain a van, but was fortunately rejected, says the attorney general.
