An IDF force prevented a stabbing attack near the village of Salfit, south of Ariel in Samaria.
A Muslim terrorist armed with a knife approached a group of IDF soldiers stationed near Salfit. When the terrorist refused to heed the soldiers’ demands to halt, the soldiers opened fire.
An IDF spokesperson called the incident an attempted terror attack.
There were no casualties. The terrorist suffered serious injuries.
According to the IDF’s preliminary summary, a number of Muslim rioters damaging and hitting a security fence near Ariel approached an IDF force. One of the rioters put his hand in his pocket in a way that looked like the drawing of a knife. In response, an IDF force fired at him, as a result of which, he was wounded.
The terrorist was treated by an IDF force and evacuated to hospital.
