A Bangladeshi Muslim terrorist in his 20s has been taken into custody with serious injuries after a pipe bomb he was carrying malfunctioned and exploded and he blew himself up prematurely inside a Midtown Manhattan subway station Monday morning.
The bomb detonated prematurely. If it had gone off as intended, the damage could have been catastrophic.
It was the second time in two months that New York City was the target of a Muslim terror attack, and the first since the Muslim rage around the world was sparked, this time by President Trump’s historic decision of recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
The Muslim terrorist blew himself up around 7:20am, in an underground tunnel linking the Port Authority Bus Terminal to Times Square. The underground tunnel is a major thoroughfare for workers during the morning rush hour.
The terrorist, identified as 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, was walking east towards Times Square when a ‘low-tech’ explosive attached to his body with Velcro and zip ties partially exploded. Another five-inch metal pipe bomb was found on his person.
He was then rushed to Bellevue Hospital to be treated for serious burns and cuts to his abdomen and hands.
Three other people also reported to local hospitals for minor injuries like ringing in the ears and headaches.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said that the terrorist was ‘disgruntled’ and learned how to make the pipe bomb online. There are conflicting reports about where Ullah made the device. The New York Post say he constructed it at the electrical company where he worked, while a law enforcement source said he made it in his apartment.
Law enforcement sources who spoke to the Muslim terrorist at the hospital say he confessed to plotting the attack in retribution for recent actions by Israelis against Muslim terrorists in Gaza, after Israel struck Hamas terror targets in retaliation to rocket fire at civilians in Southern Israel.
Yesterday, Hamas threatened Israel will pay a price for “breaking the rules of the game” after the IDF discovered, exposed and demolished their cross-border terror tunnel. According to the terror group, two Muslim terrorists were eliminated during the demolition.
The terrorist is a Bangladeshi national who has been living in the U.S. for the past seven years. Fox News reports that the former taxi driver came to the U.S. on a F-4 visa, a preferential visa for those who have family already in the U.S.
