7.3 magnitude earthquake strikes Iran-Iraq border region, southeast of the city of As-Sulaymaniyah

Effects felt in Iran, Kurdistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Israel, Turkey and UAE.

The epicenter of the quake was located some 34 km below the surface.

Residents in Israel reported feeling a minor earthquake. The tremor was reported in the central cities of Tel Aviv, Petah Tikva, Ramat Gan, Kiryat Ono, Ganei Tikva and Rehovot, the southern cities of Be’er Sheva and Ofakim and in northern city of Haifa.

Death toll has reached at least 207 dead, 1700 injured in the earthquake in western Iran. The number of casualties expected to increase.
