Hamas money for murder of teens in 2014 seized by IDF in wide scale raid in Hevron

Israeli security forces launched a wide scale operation overnight Wednesday in a renewed crackdown on the families of the Hamas Muslim Arab terrorists who in 2014 kidnapped and murdered the teenagers Gil-Ad Shaer, Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrah.

During the joint operation between the IDF and the Shin Bet, dozens of Hamas targets in Hevron were also raided in an effort to smash the terror movement’s infrastructure in the city.

As forces combed through multiple Hamas sites, NIS 5,000 shekels were confiscated from the families of the terrorists who murdered the teenagers.

“From the moment that the kidnapping attack was carried out, the families of the attackers have enjoyed significant sums of money received from the Hamas movement, which empowers the families of the terrorists on the Palestinian street and contributes to recruiting the next generation of terrorists,” a statement from the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said after the raids.

During the operation last night, thousands of shekels were seized, along with two vehicles and two computers that are of the equivalent value to the money that the families received from the terrorists.

Also during the night, security forces arrested 22 wanted Muslim Arab terrorists in different cities and towns in Judea and Samaria, for involvement in terror activities, disruption of public order and violence.

Last year, the IDF confiscated significant sums of money from families affiliated with Hamas terrorists.
