Syrian-trained Hamas terrorist nabbed by Shin Bet

An Arab resident of Qalqilya, 23-year-old Malak Nazar Yousseff Kazmar was arrested two months ago by the Shin Bet and the IDF for recruiting people to the Hamas terror group and plotting deadly terror attacks against Israelis.

According to the Shin Bet, it emerged during his interrogation that Kazmar, who had lived in Turkish Cyprus for the last few years, had been recruited by Hamas while he was in Jordan in August 2015 and sent to a military training camp in Syria in January 2016.

In the Syrian military camp, Kazmar learned to shoot and underwent theoretical training on the production of explosive devices.

In January 2017, shortly before he returned to Israel, he met with Hamas terrorists in Istanbul who instructed him to recruit additional Hamas terrorists who were residing in Israel.

Kazmar was arrested upon his return to Israel however, before he could implement the instructions he was given.

During his interrogation, Kazmar turned over the contents of an encrypted memory card that he had received from his operators in Turkey, which contained extensive security guidelines and information intended to assist him in carrying out his missions.

He was charged with crimes against national security.

The Shin Bet has stated that the “Hamas leadership continues to be assisted by activists who return to Judea-Samaria to promote terrorist activity, while its leaders operate without interference in various countries abroad.”

  1. Great work by Shin Bet,,, now it’s Mossad’s turn to track down their leaders in countries abroad;
