Rockets fired towards Eilat – Iron Dome successfully intercepts 3 rockets, 1 falls in open area

Four rockets were fired at the southern city of Eilat on Wednesday night from the Sinai Peninsula, which is under Egyptian rule.

At 22:54, a Code Red alarm was sounded, and a minute later it was sounded again.

The IDF issued a statement following the alarm, explaining that Israel’s air defense system Iron Dome had successfully intercepted three rockets.

The fourth rocket to have been shot fell in an open area, causing no damage.

Fragments from the intercepted rockets were discovered in a swimming pool in the city.

The last time rockets were fired at Eilat was during Operation Protective Edge, in July 2014. At the time, two rockets managed to strike at the center of the city, one of them near a hotel. Ten people were injured and 13 were struck with anxiety as a result.
