UK: Muslim terrorist jailed for plotting suicide attack found with ‘terror documents in jail cell’

A Muslim prisoner has been charged with a new terror offence in connection with handwritten documents found in his cell at high security Belmarsh prison.

Mohammed Rehman, who is currently serving time in jail in south-east London, is accused of possession of a document likely to be used in an act of terrorism under section 58 of the Terrorism Act.

The 26-year-old was found guilty in December last year on two counts of preparing for acts of terrorism and sentenced to life with a minimum term of 27 years imprisonment.

West Midlands Police said: ‘The charge is in connection with handwritten documents found within Rehman’s cell in February this year.’

Rehman will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 25.

Rehman and his now ex-wife were jailed last year after plotting a terror attack on London to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the July 7 bombings.

The couple were inspired by ISIS and became radicalised after marrying in October 2013.

Rehman, calling himself the Silent Bomber, went online to ask Twitter users for suggestions on which target to choose – Westfield shopping center or the Tube.
