Stabbing attack thwarted in Hevron

A stabbing attack was thwarted on Friday near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron as Israeli security forces arrested an Arab terrorist carrying a knife.

The 23-year-old Arab terrorist aroused the suspicion of the IDF commander at the checkpoint, who insisted on conducting a full body search on the suspect.

The Israel Border Police reported that after the suspect resisted the search, the officers found that he was carrying a knife on him. The suspect was taken by Israeli security forces for an investigation, in which it was revealed that he tried to commit a stabbing attack at the checkpoint.

“The alertness of the Israel Border Police officers, who noticed the suspicious signs, insisted on conducting a thorough search, seized a knife found on the body of the suspect and arrested him may have prevented a stabbing attack directed against them or against worshipers at the site,” the Israel Police and Border Police stated after the incident had come to an end.
