2 terrorists wanted by FBI after removing NYC terrorist’s bomb from a bag

The FBI has released an image of two terrorists who took a suitcase holding a bomb that didn’t explode in New York City.

Federal prosecutors have charged Ahmad Khan Rahami with setting a bomb in New Jersey and two in New York City. One of the bombs left in Manhattan didn’t explode.

The FBI issued a poster Wednesday showing ‘two unidentified individuals’ who investigators want to talk to. The agency says the men were seen Saturday night removing the bomb from a piece of luggage, then leaving the device behind while taking the suitcase.

Investigators have said the two accomplices are being sought as witnesses, not suspects.

Surveillance footage shows the same terrorist, identified as Rahami, dropping bags off on 23rd and 27th streets Saturday night.

Not long after dropping off the second device at 27th Street, the two accomplices were seen rifling through the bag. They removed the pressure cooker from the bag, wrapped in a white trash bag, and set it on the street. They left the scene with the duffel bag that originally concealed the bomb.

Previous reports speculated that the two terrorists could have been thieves who saw the bag on the ground, emptied its contents, and made off with the find.

Just hours before the Chelsea bombing, a pipe bomb also exploded along the route of a planned military charity race in Seaside Park, New Jersey. No one was injured in that event.

And on Sunday, two homeless men found five pipe bombs in a backpack they rummaged from a trash can near the Elizabeth, New Jersey train station.  The two men reported the bombs to police, and no one was injured.

The following morning, the FBI released Rahami’s picture to the public, saying he was wanted for questioning in connection to the bombings in New York and New Jersey. Before noon, he was in police custody after a bar owned in Linden, New Jersey found the terrorist passed out in the vestibule of his business.

Before he was arrested, Rahami got into a shootout with police and was injured. He was hospitalized and his arraignment has been postponed to next week when he should be healthy enough to appear in court.
